In the early 20th century on a vacant lot in the Salamanca district a workshop and two residential properties were built for a sculptor, originally intended as listed buildings, but later converted into an automobile assembly plant. From this starting point, the developer LOFTSPAIN entrusted the firm NIETO SOBEJANO ARQUITECTOS to carry out what would prove to be a brilliant renovation work and become A21 LOFTS.
LOFT D6 is laid out on three levels.The ground floor, which includes a private courtyard through which one enters the property, is used as a living room, dining room and kitchen. The first floor is a chill-out zone, with a study and bathroom and a staircase to the third floor, which gives access to a garden terrace with furniture and ipe wood decking. The total surface area is 135m2.
An outstanding feature is its large floor-to-ceiling windows, with 3cm thick glazing, that provide excellent light and sound insulation. There are many fitted wardrobes and cupboards concealed behind Okumen wood panels on the ground and first floors.
LOFT D6 can accommodate up to five people with a queen-sized double bed (180x200cm) and a single sofa-bed on the first floor, in addition to a double sofa-bed on the ground floor. The property comes with its own private parking space and storage room.
In terms of technology, LOFT D6 is state-of-the-art. Fiber-optic Internet connection (cable and WI-FI), voice and data network, home automation center, underfloor heating, automatic sprinkler system in the garden and 24-hour CCTV surveillance. The property has a concierge.
It is located in one of the most prestigious parts of Madrid, in terms of shopping (all of the leading stores are there, as well as El Corte Ingles, Spain’s leading department store), transport links, leisure and culture. The Retiro park is 9 minutes away on foot.
